SALTY

A coastal lens on modern life

Salty began on the South Coast of NSW as a print magazine. Today, it’s a digital platform curating the best of coastal culture — design, travel, wellbeing, and the entrepreneurs shaping life by the sea.

Our editorial covers:

  • Coastal Living — interiors, style, and homes that embody refined coastal design.

  • Travel & Taste — from boutique retreats to dining destinations worth the journey.

  • Wellbeing — seasonal rituals, body and mind care, living at the pace of tides.

  • Founder Stories — the people and ideas driving Australia’s most intentional brands.

This isn’t fast content for quick scrolls.
It’s slow editorial crafted for readers who value depth, beauty, and quality in every part of life.

Why We Exist

We exist for a discerning audience — culture-shapers of the coast, creative founders, and intentional travellers — who want to live well and invest in brands that align with their values.

Our stories inspire readers to slow down, savour, and take the coast with them — wherever they are.

For brands, Salty offers a trusted space to connect with design-conscious consumers who choose quality over convenience.

Meet Charms

Founder and Editor of Salty, Charms Baltis has spent more than a decade working at the intersection of design, storytelling, and wellbeing. Her career spans award-winning jewellery design — with pieces featured in films alongside Harrison Ford and Kiefer Sutherland — to leading yoga retreats and teaching movement to both the FairBreak International women’s cricket team and the cast and crew of the feature film Mother Mountain.

Holding a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy) and more than 350 hours of Yoga Alliance–accredited training, Charms brings a rare depth of understanding of how environments, design, and daily rituals shape our wellbeing.

With Salty, she has transformed a South Coast print magazine into a digital platform for modern coastal living, blending aesthetic storytelling with a commitment to slow, intentional ways of life. Her editorial lens is grounded in authenticity — telling stories that make readers pause, feel, and connect. Whether profiling a coastal retreat, uncovering the philosophy of a local maker, or curating seasonal rituals, Charms ensures Salty is as meaningful to read as it is beautiful to look at.
